Wildlife in Corbett National Park
The huge and varied wildlife attractions of the Corbett National park have lured tourists from far and near since a long time now. There are also some small members of the Corbett National Park, wildlife family. Animals like Indian Gray Mongoose, Common Otter, Porcupine and Himalayan Palm Civet also are residents of this park. Be it the Sambar, Chital and deers all exist in the Savannah grasslands of the Jim Corbett National Park.
The Ramganga River is known for the gharials-fish eating crocodiles and mugger crocodiles. Look up and one can spot the Langurs or monkeys who warn the animals if they spot a tiger looking for food.
Jim Corbett National Park is the first national park to come under 'Project Tiger' and also the first tiger reserve in the country. This project that started here was aimed to protect the tiger from extinction. The tiger is the main attraction of the wildlife in Corbett National Park.
